Just to update & keep track of the weddings I attended during the year...last Saturday....went for 2 weddings, both are classmates, Izliana was my classmate since standard 1 up to form 3 & Adriza was classmates form 4 & 5....

Anyway first we went to Adriza's at Dewan Tun Rahah, Yayasan Tun Razak..nice place, looks like a new hall...they had sit down lunch from 1 to 3pm, most of the guest were unaware, as weddings in the afternoon mostly are from 12 to 4pm, guest comes and leaves and its normally buffet style, so there were many empty seats this time..thank god Lili informed me, so instead of going to Izliana's kenduri first (at Gombak), we switched the plan and proceeded with Adriza's...so we were on time! yeay...Fikriah fetched me & Najua, we met Faizah there at 1pm..than Lili and bf arrived followed by Lin & Fendi much later (org dah abih makan dah!) heheh...

The theme was purple (lilac)...here are some pictures...

20 Jun 08: Izliana & Hariz's wedding

Last friday (20 Jun 08), Izliana & Hariz tied the knot! It was held at Izliana's place Gombak at night, 9pm...only myra and myself could make it for the akad nikah, while the rest came the next day for the kenduri...

Myra fetched me from the office around 8++pm, she arrived while i was stilll in discussion with my boss and a colleague, kelam kabut betul..luckily my boss let me go..sorry Myra to keep you waiting 10 minutes! anyway..we arrived at Izliana's place around 9.25pm, the Kadhi was already giving the usual sermons..met her mum who told us the bride is in the room, so we went upstairs without looking at the crowd...just to find the bride has already been brought down..arghh, so we ended up taking pictures at the bridal room and then sat at the staircase to witness the akad nikah.

Those pictures taken were from my hp camera, and my batt died right after the last pic! couldn't take pic with the bride! arghh...but we did take, just not my camera...

The next day, we went for Adriza's wedding and then came for Izliana & Hariz's kenduri...I made sure I took picture with them this time..

Meeting up with Uni mates...

Last wednesday, 18 June 08, Niza & Aidil came down to KL (from Kuching) for a visit, they actually got those free fare tickets...so we arranged for the actuarial gang to meet up at Nandos, KLCC, kesian Su, tak dapat join..hope u get well soon Su..

When I reached KLCC, I immediately went to nandos to get a table for 11 of us, met up with Amm, Qereq & Alya there, then Michelle & fiancee, Niza, Aidil & Aqif arrived...so we were seated at this really "sempit" space as if there wasn't any other place to seat us...I as usual got annoyed, and asked to be seated at the open space with the sign 'This section is closed". The waiter told me that the section is closed (as if i didn't know) and I told him to open it! there was 11 of us. He said his manager would not allow! I told him to call his manager, I want to speak to him/her, you mean 11 people comes to your restaurant, you can't give proper seating area?

Anyway..the waiter came back with three of his colleague's and decided to give us the area we wanted...that too after having to make a fuss! what's with customer service? haih

Been too busy to update on my trip to India..well..the next day after the akad nikah, we went to Dakshin Chitra, I will post more in the following post..anyway..we were really tired by evening, as the wheather was really HOT plus the journey was an hour plus...the reception was that night..we (the cousins) were really tired..

The reception was held at the Taj, started around 7.30pm where the bride and groom comes in and sit on a "pelamin" --> a decorated stage and sofa kinda setting, and guest goes up one by one to wish them (not like our merenjis where its all VIPs only), then there was the photography session and then buffet dinner outside the hall..

--> the pictures, my sis Natasha & my Mum wore saree...I didn't.. :)

Here's the bride and groom...with the "pelamin"...I don't know what they call it there...

The buffet was pretty wierd though, unlike us, they don't have tables or chairs to sit, the guest stands around, eat, talk....but the thing is, the food was like really great, it was pretty hard to enjoy it if you had to stand and eat...anyway the cousins and I spotted a garden area where there was a high enough brick area to sit on, and we enjoyed our lovely food and dessert...yummy... (I should have taken pictures of the food...totally forgot! I just enjoyed it!)

The Akad of Noria & Raja...

The Akad was held at the SIET Sports Pavillion - Teynampet, Chennai on 06-06-08 after Maghrib prayers, here are some pictures...had a great time here :)

this is a nice horse carriage ordered by the Groom's parents specially to take them around after the akad...we decided to take pictures before the akad...thank god we did, it was gone when we got out!

Check out the groom's shoes, its missing, yeah thats what we the cousins did, we took his shoes when we went up for photography, the earlier session, actually it was Muna and Sabrina who acted on impulse and we demanded for 10,000 rp (well this was for calling us the cousins "not aggressive enough" the night of the Mehandi, during our negotiation. The story goes like this, we pulled Noria away from him as he was not suppose to meet her as per tradition and we told him we will give him 15 minutes, if he takes us all out for dinner at Pasha - a happening place in Chennai & if he danced!! hahah, well he did dance, but ran away leaving us dancing away!).

He didn't want to give in to our demands and had to proceed with the dinner (at the end after all the guest have gone home) & the family photography session without the shoes...but we had a traitor among us! My cousin Aasif (the bride's brother) snatched one shoe off from us - because he had in given his shoes to the Groom during dinner and he was, in turn left without a shoe (no one asked him to!!), and we were left to negotiate for one of the remaining shoe, Muna actually sat on the shoe (covered with plastic of course), to ensure no one can snatch it! that was really funny...even Granny was on our side for once! she was having fun...finally before going home, he came and sat with us and negotiated back for his shoes, and we made 5,000 rp that is like RM500! ahahha...kewl huh? we could have gotten more if Aasif didn't betray us!!

Greetings from India!

05 June 08: We reached Chennai in 3 hours, time difference was is about 2 & half hours earlier than Malaysian time...

We arrived in Chennai & was picked up by a driver & brought to my mum's sister's house (the bride's place) for mehandi (inai) & lunch...the food was as usual good! but it was difficult to eat as most of us (the youngsters a.k.a cousins) was with mehandi & we had our aunts feeding us, we couldn't wait, we were really hungry...Here's some pictures from the lunch & mehandi...really nice..& the color was also dark...I took mine off in an hour...I really wanted to eat! :)

Its really HOT here in Chennai, I'm not joking, I sweat so easily like as if I've done 1 hour exercise...I hope my fats are burning! heheh..but then again..the food is like soo good (yeah n full of Ghee)...and we've been eating rich food since we arrived, now that the wedding is over, we can start eating regular food...will update more on the mehandi ceremony held the same night...then next day was the akad nikah, following day was the reception and then followed by lunch at the groom's house the following day...

Leaving for a holiday...

Dun miss me guys...leaving for India, Chennai tomorrow morning, will be back in 10 days, and please dun expect gifts cos im broke :) (warning awal-awal nie).

The plan so far that I know, will be attending wedding the first three days, then the next 7 days is still kind of a blur, I hope my cousin has something planned...if not....jalan with my sis je lar...hmm Dora, I will try to get ur sari material & my colleague pun order punjabi suit, Put & Su order pashwena (betul ke tak ntah eja nie), hmm I hope I remember all...

sedeynye tak de camera!!! xpe handphone ada...(yes Dora, I will look for a camera soon!)

okay...signing off from Malaysia, salamz...

Treasure Hunt to Penang - 31-May-08

As I mentioned in my previous post, I had a treasure hunt to Penang last weekend...flag off was scheduled at 7am from the National Science Center, Damansara. The night before I went to Teluk Intan and got back at 2am, I got up late!!! woke up at 6.15am, luckily I had done the packing the night before, so got ready, woke my sister, and told her to speed to Damansara, managed to be there at 7.05am, heh, and it turned out, this batch of hunters were mostly late, briefing only started at 7.15am and flag off at 7.30am, I was lucky...heheh

I had registered for this hunt with KAG, 3 months ago, before I knew about Lyack's wedding and didn't want to pull out last minute, I'm glad I managed to do both this time though it's tiring...anyway..the theme for this hunt was the Pirates of AmCaribean, so we were expected to have watched all the movies, otherwise it would be difficult to actually answer these questions...I have watched all the three movies before but don't remember every single detail, luckily one of my team member does!

Our team number, we named our team "missing one" since one member couldn't make it for the hunt... & there Kwan & me at the end of the hunt at Sg.Bakap stop...

There's my team mates checking into Bayview..we reached the hotel in Penang at 6++pm, there was a teribble jam after Sg.Bakap all the way to just before the brigde!

Dinner at night had the waiter & waitress's wearing the pirates T-shirt & the hall was decorated with pirate flags too...& there's my colleagues playing pool...after the dinner and announcement of winners for lucky draw and the hunt...
