Our trip to Bandung

04-07 Feb 2009: We went to Bandung!




From LCCT to Hussein Sastranegara Airport...



We had made reservations at the Sukajadi Hotel, but we ended up at the Cemerlang Hotel. We didn't like Sukajadi, Cemerlang was a lot better! the whole changing hotel thing took us 2 hours with the credit card not activated and hp credit issues! I forgot to activate my line to roaming...so I was lost without my line...but was glad in a way, the office couldn't reach me...heheh

Great Ikan Bakar here...we went to the food court at Pasar Baru before we did the first round material shopping...



Next day - 05 Feb 09: Waited 1 hour...something to do with miscommunication on the time settings...we were ready too early and didn't even notice it! eventually we did...and laughed it off

3rd day - 06 Feb 09: Suppose to go to another sightseeing place but Su & I was sick...so we took our time at the hotel that morning, and headed to the farmasi then to Pasar Baru...again - Borong Kain!!


Next we went for DVDs shopping, the guy tried to cheat us! its annoying...they are just out to fleece us! it was already after 5pm and we were soo hungry...we went to Paris Van Java...


Had Lunch & Dinner at Awe (A&W)... Elaine had 4 pieces of Fried Chicken ok! but the pieces was small lar...like anak ayam...(jgn mara elaine!)




Summary at the end: packed our bags that night, next morning, had breakfast at the hotel...got Kartikasari, the famous brownies & left for the Airport, Su & I had to pay for access baggage...21kg's!!

Overall, it was fun & tiring...learned a few indonesian word...capek (tired), Libur (holiday) & the rest I can't remember already!

I luv Angpows!

Seronoknye this year, to date I already received 4 Angpows! Last year none, so that’s why I’m actually so excited…heheh...anyway, here’s me showing off the Angpows from (my X-boss - KT, colleague & good friend - Glennise, my current boss - AK & a new manager here - STM)

4 Angpows & 2 oranges (received more actually before CNY)- on my messy work station...lots of work to clear...sigh...



* Going off to Bandung tomorrow with the DDs!!…hope all goes well…

* Also, have a plan for Star Cruise in March 09, Elaine invited us to join her & her parents…there were 2 empty seats since her Sis & bro in law couldn’t make it, Put & I will be filling in…(& yes we are paying ok…not free!)… I’m so happy (not the paying part of course, bankrupt jugak bulan nie…the going for a cruise part!!)!!

Hopefully it's a good year...with all the Angpow's coming in :) ... I wonder if the Yee Sang plan for today with the x-colleagues will actually materialize or not..hmm...

Time flies~!

1st Feb 08: OMG it's already February 09! gosh, time flies...I don't feel like I have accomplished anything in the past month....gotta buck up!

Yesterday...went to senawang (a day trip) to visit my cousin (my mum's side), we didn't get to attend her son's wedding and therefore owed a visit...Selamat Pengantin Baru the the couple although I don't really know them...hmmm..to come to think of it, I don't really know lots of my cousins & their families on my mum's side, only the immediate ones, but majority of them are overseas and we meet once in 10 years!



Anyway...after that, I heard my uncle, uncle Maiden...met with an accident the day before, my dad was already there, so we drove straight to Melawati from Senawang to visit...it was a bad accident...check out the picture of the car from the scene, it's really scary, I could have lost my uncle...but he was in one piece, thank God!







And after playing Uno with my uncles kids i.e. my younger cousins, we decided to go the usual hang out...this time just Azita, Elaine n Me at first, Natasha & Put Pendek i.e. Putri Intan (elaine gave her that name to differentiate her from our Puput!) joined later followed by Kamal & Jeff...nothing much...no games, just borak2 & teasing some people :)

Just thinking....

As some may be aware, the OPR has been brought down by 75bps, which is now standing at 2.50% on 21st Jan 09 during the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) & the reduction of SRR from 3.50% to 2%. Then the thought process began…someone asked me through email:

TN: Hi... can I know what is SRR?

SZ: Statutory Reserve Rate – the amount set aside by the bank with BNM each time they take in a deposit, its basically idle money as it doesn’t earn interest in the BNM account, so it’s a cost to the bank.

TN: Ok. So it is 2% of total deposits is it? Is it any kind of deposit?

SZ: Yes 2% of the net of the eligible liabilities & asset. There is a way to calculate the amount that is eligible to be deducted from the SRR, certain deposits & capital items are exempted, that’s the eligible liabilities, get the net figure & apply the 2% which will be placed at BNM account with no interest. Refer to the attachment, the items are stated in the appendix [if anyone wants to see it, just ask me]

TN: Thanks. So when the OPR drops, it will be better for banks who are borrowing rite? And when SRR drops, banks have more money to lend out rite? But FD rate will also drop rite?

Here’s where I started thinking…
SZ: Yes yes & yes, but im wondering, actual deposits will also drop then kan? People will find else where to put their money, and since the equity market is down, ppl might just turn to unit trusts n all…since they could expect more returns, rather than low interest FD's...what do u think…then how to raise $$?

TN: guess people will just start spending more instead of saving rite?

SZ: That’s what they are trying to get ppl to do, but is it good for the bank that ppl dun wanna put money in?

TN: True... so does that mean this will cause adverse effects to the banks?

Gee I have no idea how it affects the bank…the question is still left hangging...Maybe I should start monitoring the deposit accounts & check the trend...or just find some reading material…

Game & BBQ nite...

So...here some update on the recent activities, Pejal lost the last Monyet game & therefore had to treat us to the re-match karaoke (the one where the boys lost to the gurlz last week), so he had to treat me, Amyrah & Elaine...& we were invited on Sunday nite...so what the guys did was, they subsitute Hafez (since he was working) with a new person, Jeff --> sesukati, and brought Abang Pow as the judge... amboi..amboi...amboi...melampau kan...tapi ktorg tak keysah pun...we won again 6 points for the gurls vs 4 to the boys! (20 songs, 10 each team)

Some shots from them doing "Fiona" - no joke ok..got showmanship! Well since we won, we had out own style too :p



*Sorry kengkawan lain eh...ktorg tak dapat ajak to this round karaoke since we weren't the host...Pejal was the host...jangan lak terasa...susah nak pujuk nanti...

The next day...we were soooo bored! as usual...pegi andalus...and the guys datang...so this was a big gang here..& it turned out to be another game night for us...(byk la impromptu lepak sessions lately...well...nak wat canne...bossaaaann!)



ohh..and ada macam2 mende berlaku...sms-ses lah, org cover lah...but to me and most of us there...Kamal was the monyet; walaupun ada org volunteer to coverkan his loss and eventually the game had to dibubarkan (as we had to leave). And...after 18 hours, Kamal finally accepted the title monyet! (I had to make him accept it!!...how?..well I have my way)...so Kamal...be ready for your denda!

*I take this oppurtunity untuk meminta maaf kepada kengkawan lain sebab tak sempat ajak korang join...kul 8pm baru terasa nak pegi, so cam automatic ajak elaine n myra...korang jgn lak mara....Sorry!

Anyway...I had to rush to my cousins place immediately as I was late for a BBQ session...this one lasted up to 4am!

BBQ with the Kazens...& Game Night "21"...well..looks like gambling, but its just 'small time' for the fun of it...using syilings :)



Main-main je tu... I masuk capital RM2.20, Keluar RM1.20, I lost RM1 to the tauke (muke tersengih puas hati tu..in pink) heheh..

Yellow Line & Parking Fees?

We've been going to lepak in Andalus for sometime now, and the only parking we get is by the roadside most of the time i.e. on the yellow line since there's no choice. But lately, there has been collection of parking fees of RM3 at the places we park along the road...its kinda wierd, considering it is not a private property and we are parking on a yellow line which indicates its a government road right?

Why should these people (from PEWARIS MANAGEMENT) be collecting any money at all?? The ticket evens says that we're parking at our own risk, which we have been doing all along, and now suddenly we have to pay for parking at our own risk too? what the H**l?? And its RM3 ok, that's a lot of money for a parking lot which is not a parking lot..get what I mean...? So who are this people collecting the fees? they say they "jaga kereta" from people breaking the glass n sort, so you mean to say, if I don't pay something will happen to my car? It has been fine all along ok...yes I'm pissed! How can this happen? Is it allowed?



We asked the restaurant why are these people collecting the parking fees, they said, its not theirs, its from the government? why RM3?? why not just put a parking box n collect through the meters like everywhere else?

Poolside BBQ...

Last friday night, my cousin, Abg Hafez had his 50th Birthday party at Holiday Villa, it was just a small crowd for BBQ by the pool side...

U.Man, U.Ariffin, Abg Hafez & Son gave a speech, nice speech's, all about Abg Hafez's life, about him & dedication to his work (a successful architect), his children, and most of all, about him being a good son to the parents especially his late father, my uncle Hashim...btw, sorry about the blur pictures, that’s what happens when you’re lazy to get up and take picture & use the zoom function with not enough lighting...
